Marlborough Forest
Guided nature walks along the Cedar Grove Trail
On Sunday, 17 September, OFGAC is holding one of its learning
events in Ottawa's biggest forest and most amazing natural
resource. Forester Craig Huff will be on hand to talk about
the city's role in managing Marlborough Forest.
Meet at the parking lot (E3) on the south side of Roger Stevens
Drive 10.4 km west of North Gower and 6 km east of the intersection
with Dwyer Hill Road. Please arrive at least 10 minutes before
the scheduled start time to receive additional information
and a map.

The Marlborough Forest Citizens' Group
Get involved! Learn more!
The Marlborough Forest Citizens’ Group (MFCG) was formed to provide
a mechanism for communication among the many groups that use the
Marlborough Forest (including the general public) and to help in
the management and care of the forest under the direction of the
city’s Forestry Services.
We're in the process of organizing work groups to carry out some
of these activities — communications, ecology and interpretation,
management of forest resources, and recreation. So far, members
of the MFCG
- have mounted several displays of forest creatures in the kiosks
located at two trailheads
- have established a web site to inform and communicate among
ourselves and with others who are interested in learning more
about the forest
- are researching some of the history of the forest and human
uses of it
- are looking into funding for the spring cleanup and other
maintenance needs.
If you are interested in helping out or want to know more about
this amazing natural resource, please contact us at forestry@ottawa.ca
